Growing Up- Talking to your child about Puberty Wednesday June 19th, 7.30pm, The Carmelite Centre Anita Ghafoor, Education and Training Co-ordinator from the Irish Family Planning Association will be presenting a talk around the issue of Talking to your Child with Down Syndrome about Puberty. Topics covered will be -Physical changes in puberty -Emotional changes -Social changes -Time line activity on how to explain the physical changes to your child -Ideas of how to work with your child around describing the emotional challenges -A 20 minute workshop of how to use the intimacy circle to explain the social challenges.
